Kay:
Hey, hey, Questers, happy Tuesday. We have a quote for you today from someone that we do not know at all, but the quote was really fun so we couldn’t ignore it. It’s episode 427. And it is August 24th. Our quote is from a fellow named Dean Jackson. The Lord knows who that is.
Shi:
Maybe a lady named Dean Jackson.
Kay:
You know, we don’t know but the quote is just too good. So, let’s lay it on you. “When she transformed into a butterfly, the caterpillars spoke not of her beauty, but of her weirdness. They wanted her to change back into what she had always been. But she had wings.”
Shi:
The imagery here, the metaphor, whoever you are, Mr. or Mrs. Jackson, well done on this quote and the lesson behind it and the perspective that it offers to us as we all become butterflies in our own ways and in our own lives and a bunch of different avenues it can be painful. Just like the butterfly sometimes there’s no going back.
Kay:
No. Right, and in this case, once you get into that butterfly space just like she has here you’ve got wings yo.
Shi:
Yeah.
Kay:
And you’re not going back. Like all, you caterpillars think I’m weird but I got wings.
Shi:
Hello! Flapping them.
Kay:
Flap, flap, flap, flap.
Shi:
Do you see these?
Kay:
I can go everywhere.
Shi:
But to the caterpillar who’s yet to transform they’ve never seen that. It’s so foreign they don’t know there isn’t a frame of reference that that is normal or the supposed natural way of being for their kind of species. So, there’s that weirdness setting in how many caterpillars are out in your life or in your surroundings and your circumstances and experiences that might think you’re a little weird for maybe spending your free time doing this kind of stuff instead of watching the latest binge-worthy TV. Not that there’s anything wrong with that but there is a lot with growing your wings and doing personal growth and development. If you’re here with us we know you’re a little weird like we are too.
Kay:
Well, whether you are gathering your wings and getting weird or maybe you are still a caterpillar yourself, you’re somewhere in this transformation journey. It can be difficult when you do transform, and you move from caterpillar to butterfly because your experience of the transformation is a beautiful one. You’re a butterfly now, you have wings, and your perspective is a higher perspective than what the caterpillar has on the ground. So, you’ve got to understand that when you create transformations in your life, that’s when you begin to elevate your personality, when you begin to revolutionize your world and your patterns that the people in your life who are used to you being a caterpillar, might look at you and say, she’s weird now, or he’s weird now and I don’t get it and that’s so strange to me. To the butterfly, sometimes it can kind of hurt to not be accepted by your caterpillars anymore.
Shi:
But wings are undeniably amazing. We experienced something like this as we’ve given up alcohol and had our own transformation. And all of the caterpillars out there, many of you are probably listening that still drink alcohol. And maybe think that we’re a little bit weird for getting rid of it. The wings of freedom that we’ve truly gained from it make it a no-brainer to us and make it so incredibly stark that we want to go and tell the caterpillars you’re being hypnotically induced into believing something that’s not true. But caterpillars, until it’s their time for transformation, are going to feel like that’s weird and obtrusive and the beautiful part about being a butterfly is you have wings, you can fly away.
Kay:
A butterfly can’t go back to a caterpillar and be like, okay now is your time for transformation? Do it, do it, do it, do it, do it, do it. No amount of that makes the caterpillar cocoon any faster. Those caterpillars have their very own transformation process as well just like you have as you’re going from caterpillar to butterfly. So, as a reminder of what this unknown, brilliant human, Dean Jackson said, “When she transformed into a butterfly, the caterpillars spoke not of her beauty, but of her weirdness. They wanted her to change back into what she had always been. But she had wings.”
Shi:
So good. Alright, it’s your Tuesday Quest. We want you to be a butterfly today. Spread your wings and live up to your most authentic expression even if it makes other people or caterpillars say you’re weird. Are you ready? Say it with us now.
Kay & Shi:
Let’s quest!
