Kay:

Hey Questers! Happy Good Friday! It is the beginning of Easter weekend. I mean, good Friday, but sad Friday. April 2nd, we’re glad to be with you today. We’ve got an OG quote common for you today from the one and only Jesus of Nazareth from the Bible and this quote comes out of Luke 11: 9-10.

Shi:

“And so, I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened onto you.”

Kay:

First off, I love this quote.

Shi:

I know. It’s so good.

Kay:

This is like the Law of Attraction, but in the Bible.

Shi:

Jesus dropping some knowledge.

Kay:

One of my favorite things about this quote is that he says, “And so I tell you, keep on asking…, keep on seeking…, keep on knocking…” Now, knocking, seeking, and asking all have a very similar part.

Shi:

Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding.

Kay: It’s the -ing!

Shi:

Yeah. The ing, the ing, the ing. They’re all verbs. They’re ‘doing’ words that mean taking action and engaging in activity long-term. That’s what activity is, it’s an action repeated over and over consistently and that’s what these verbs are insinuating here. It’s not, “ask, you seek, knock,” a singular time. It’s to continue doing those things. That’s the way that we signal to the universe what it is that we are truly after and desire and not on a whim. It’s how we tell God what it is that is in our hearts as we express the gifts that have been bestowed upon us. It’s the way that we earn our keep to get what’s on the other side of that door and to receive what it is that we asked for. So, this idea of the verb, Kay, I’m so glad that you brought it up. It is probably the most important part of this quote.

Kay:

Yup, and that these three things go together. It’s not, “and so I tell you, keep on asking and you will receive what you ask for,” period. This is a three-part sentence. It’s about asking with your heart. It’s about seeking with your mind and with your eyes and then it’s about knocking with your physical action. So, it’s about making sure that your heart, your mind, and you’re doing all align with one another. But there’s something that I found in this quote, this particular time around studying it that I hadn’t really considered before. As we’ve really studied more about the universal laws and how our world works and operates from a very scientific level, it’s become clear that the world really speaks in vibrations. We get down to the very molecules that are making up our body and it’s just a bunch of little balls that are like eeeeee. They are just vibrating.

Shi:

Yup.

Kay:

Your heart is constantly sending out that pulse of vibration. We are vibratory beings, and the universe doesn’t really care about what it is that you ask for, ask and you shall receive. So, if the universe speaks in vibration, roll with us here, okay…Your primary vehicle for vibration in your body is emotion. So, are you worrying constantly? You’re going to get what you ask for. Do you have consistent anger? You’re going to get what you ask for. Do you seek fulfillment from outside sources? You’ll find emptiness in your activities. Knocking on doors of unhealthy habits, they will open to you. So, it doesn’t matter if it’s constructive or destructive. The universe is going to respond.

Shi:

The doors at the bottom of the Hill are the easiest to access. When you think about John’s principle of everything worthwhile is uphill. You have to walk up the hills to seek a higher view, a vantage point to be able to see further so that you can ask for more, to find a door that’s worthy of you knocking on. But there are lots of doors down low at the bottom of the hill and there are plenty that can keep you down there if you don’t intentionally move up that hill and ask and seek. The laws of the universe that Jesus is sharing here don’t care. They apply equally to the good stuff, and bad stuff, and things you do want and don’t want. So, being able to actively take control, take the driver’s wheel of what it is that you’re asking for, seeking for, and knocking on can be the key for you.

Kay:

Gravity doesn’t stop functioning because someone’s falling out of the sky and it feels hurt for the person that’s falling. Laws are laws, are laws, and they work for good, and they work for bad. So, let’s hear from Jesus of Nazareth here on good Friday. He says, “And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.”

Shi:

Alright. It’s Quest time and it is a Seek and Ye Shall Find Quest. This weekend, allow yourself the opportunity to seek out whatever it is you’re looking to find, no matter how far-fetched it feels. Even if you just start with asking yourself the question in your head, open yourself up to receiving an unexpected, opportune journey ahead. Are you ready?
