The Daily Scroll: A Mentorship Recap – March 16th, 2021 Show Notes

Kay:

Hey there Questers, welcome back. It’s episode 312, and today is Tuesday, March 16th. We have our Baba Elegba Chakra Spray today with us as we dive into talking about the first two energetic centers of the body, your Muladhara Chakra, and your Svadhisthana Chakra.

Shi:

Otherwise known as your Root and Sacral chakras, that red and orange, your first two, and your quote for today is. “The closer you come to knowing that you alone create the world of your experience, the more vital it becomes for you to discover just who is doing the creating.”

Kay:

Now, this quote is given to us by Eric Micha’el Leventhal. He is the author of A Light from the Shadows, a literary consultant and holistic educator on the Island of Maui, Hawaii, and of course, a graduate of Stanford University and San Diego’s International Professional School of Bodywork.

Shi:

That’s a pretty accomplished fellow and this is a really deep thought that I just absolutely love, especially because, you know, if you’re listening today, it’s March 16th, 2021 and my word for the year, 2021, was creation. That was a word that I felt was given to me kind of earlier than it ever has been. It was early November when this word really just resonated that it was going to be the year for 2021. So, this quote, really speaking into kind of the mechanics of creation and a little bit of the architecture behind that word and how we can use it spiritually is pretty fascinating.

Kay:

Well, your Root Chakra and your Sacral Chakra are really in charge of your passion and creativity centers. This is your drive. Now, this is a little bit more saucy than normal for the Mentorship Quest but if you think about the placing of that Sacral and Root Chakra, that’s right at all of that, you know, the lower business of your body, where that passion is really thriving.

Shi:

That’s where the babies come from, this is the creation center of life in and of itself. So, it makes sense that that’s where the energetic signatures would come from, and really when we think about red, that root, that bottom chakra, that’s our most based kind of connection to the earth. It is the slowest wavelength of them all. It is the one that is survival at its very core.

Kay:

Safety.

Shi:

Safety. Yep, absolutely, and then that orange coming right above that, you know, the biological purpose of creation and that passion center right there in that orange center vibrating at a slightly tighter wavelength and kind of bringing those two energies together. Some of my favorites- but it’s taken me a while to get on board with orange and red down there. When you start in the spiritual journey, I feel like you’re like, I want to be all purple.

Kay:

Yeah. I want to be third eye and third eye only. But then you get down into understanding what they’re about and the Root and the Sacral Chakras really take their place. I mean, when we think about what humans as a species are really at our very base and our very core. From a biological level, we’re created to live, and we’re created to create. That’s the biological level, not the thinking, not the advancement, all that, but the biological level- live, survive, and create, reproduce. So, these two centers are incredibly important and if you have maybe trouble or insecurity with feeling really grounded or feeling like you are your own self and your own body or maybe you’re feeling creatively blocked focus on these energy centers. Do things like hip movements.

Shi:

Yep.

Kay:

I can’t even tell you how much hip dancing has helped us in opening up our energetic centers.

Shi:

It’s been so nice to… We’re both “worker-outers” quite a bit, a new term.

Kay:

“Worker-outers.”

Shi:

Yeah. But when you’re running or you’re lifting weights, or you’re doing some kind of extended cardio, you’re not necessarily moving all of the muscles, especially in that middle region. We are three-dimensional beings who should move three-dimensionally and yet our lives often exist on the screen or in the chair or even when running, it’s fairly two dimensional. So, bringing in that three-dimensional aspect can really help clear those areas for you and if you’ve had a troubled childhood, this is probably where you struggle in your chakra area in that root survival, just having that safety threatened from a young age can be tough. So, it’s a great place to focus energies if you’ve had some trauma in the past.

Kay:

Now, if maybe you’re feeling like, hey, I’ve got some work to do in these energetic centers, there are lots of things you can do from physical movement to dietary changes. We definitely suggest that you Google it or go see an energetic specialist, but you can always head over to places like babaelegba.com. That’s Elegba where we got our chakra spray today and Shila and I have really been leaning in recently to aromatherapy and essential oils to help us just really maintain that best spirit that we possibly can. So, as a reminder of today’s quest, our quote is, “The closer you come to knowing that you alone create the world of your experience, the more vital it becomes for you to discover just who is doing the creating.”

Shi:

Oh, just who is doing that creating indeed. Alright, today, you’re going to create your quest by connecting more closely with your core, the center of your creativity and passion. Those red and orange center down there at the bottom. Light those up, ignite that lower core of your body and we challenge you to do 50 bicycle-style crunches. Those will help you ignite it physically and energetically get you moving. So, if you don’t know how to do these, check out our Instagram for a little tutorial today. Are you ready?

Kay & Shi:

Let’s quest!
